Artist of the month - February 2016: Stella Nyambura Mwangi


Stella Nyambura Mwangi is a Kenyan-Norwegian singer,songwriter and rapperHer work has been used in films such as American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile and Save the Last Dance 2, and also in TV-series such as CSI: NY and Scrubs. She has won several awards including; the Kisima Awards, Clops Awards and Jeermaan Awards, she is one of the most popular singers in Norway after winning the Melodi Grand Prix 2011



Stella first topped the official singles chart in Norway in week 6, 2011 with her winning song "Haba Haba"
The “Biashara” hit maker is not mincing her words when it comes to making that money! Through her musical prowess, she has built her brand by producing music that transcends boarders, thus becoming a local and internationally revered celebrity.

Besides being born in Kenya, Stella has lived in Norway and it is here that she is currently based, occasionally making time to visit her motherland, Kenya.



Off Late however, she has been missing out in the musical scene leading various quarters in the industry to question whether she had quit music, while her fans keep pestering for her eagerly awaited comebacks.

In late 2015 she finally dropped a new single "Identify Yourself" composed and written by Stella Mwangi, Produced by Fredrick "Dilly" Wangombe Under 'Badili Akili'.



"Identify Yourself" has a Strong message on self discovery where she writes about realizing that a human being has/is more than one tool/capability.

The single has received over 250 000 streams and downloads.

In January 2016 Stella Mwangi hosted a surprise listening session for "The YMR Experience" @Drop Coffee CafĂ© in Sweden, that same night she announced that the music video for "Identify Yourself" would be released soon.

In February 2016, she dropped the highly anticipated music video directed by Prince Joe.

Stella recently unveiled that she has been working on her fashion line dubbed Vaa Kiafrika alongside her sister, it has been officially launched and people have responded positively to the brand.

“Vaa Kiafrica” translates to “Wearing African” which is an impressive initiative towards upholding African fashion and culture. 


With all these success stories, comes a lot of money. She knows how to spend it well also. From expensive cars, to designer perfumes, luxury houses and even a verified Facebook page.


2016 will definitely see Stella Mwangi, reaching new heights in the fashion and Entertainment Industry.
